Brett Lohn is a professional artist with a deep affection for the Surrey landscape. His preferred medium is oil on canvas but he also produces detailed graphite pencil drawings.

He produces work that shifts the atmosphere where it hangs, whether as an original painting or a limited edition print. Brett describes his art as “being infused with hope and optimism, really encouraging the viewer to explore their environment and experience the glory that is present in creation around them. Beauty is contagious; the more we are exposed to it, the more sensitive to it we become.”

Brett’s career began with several commissions to produce portraits of horses, something he still enjoys doing. However he also has a real heart for Epsom and the beauty of the Downs.
Local work includes paintings of Derby winners (Generous – 1991 winner, and Authorized, ridden by Frankie Dettori, winning the 2007 Derby), Epsom racecourse, Epsom Downs, Box Hill and beyond. Much of this work has been published as limited edition prints and greeting cards.

Brett grew up in Epsom and was awarded an art scholarship to attend Epsom College at the age of 13. He now works from a studio on the outskirts of Epsom.
