New trustees appointed to MGSO4’s charity board

MGSO4 Festival trustees Alyson Smith and Mark Jarman

Welcome to MGSO4’s new trustees Alyson Smith and Mark Jarman.

Mark has lived and worked locally for almost 40 years and volunteered during the first MGSO4 Festival, filming dozens of performances, exhibitions and live events. Experienced in business, he works as an estate agent in Ewell village, as well as running a film production company that focuses on arts and heritage.

He said: “I loved being part of the first festival. It was a fantastic experience. I met so many committed and passionate people playing their part. As a new trustee, I am looking forward to helping the charity develop and making MGS04 2018 the success it surely will be.”

Belfast-born Alyson has lived in Epsom since 2012, working as a manager and evaluator for social projects and initiatives in the public sector. Her experience of developing and implementing strategies to meet requirements of both funders and the community will support MGSO4 in the next stage of its journey as an arts charity.

She said: “I have been a supporter of MGS04 since its inception and attended many events during the first festival. As a trustee, I hope to be able to contribute to the community, and help the charity in its vision to increase the range and quality of arts experienced in the borough.”

Founding trustee and charity secretary Ali Waters added: “We’re very pleased to welcome Mark and Alyson onto the MGSO4 Board. They each have valuable skills, experience and enthusiasm that will strengthen the charity and support our long-term development.”

The second MGSO4 Epsom & Ewell Arts Festival will take place 2nd - 8th July 2018.
