Festival World Premiere: The Story of Henry Wicker (and of what he unearthed on Epsom Common one summer’s day in 1618 or thereabouts)

A new suite for cello and piano in six movements. Hear the dynamic, specially-commissioned work, composed by Greg Harradine.

The piece will re-tell the story of the discovery of Epsom Salts in six diverse movements. It will take the audience on a freewheeling musical journey, conjuring up the vibrant scene in Epsom following the salts’ discovery by local man Henry Wicker in 1618 (or thereabouts).

The wonderfully talented cellist Midori Jaeger will perform the new piece along with composer Greg Harradine on piano.
Don’t miss the world premiere of this exciting new work, kindly sponsored by Lionel Blackman. Greg and Midori will also be performing a selection of other pieces, together and individually.

Supported using public funding by the National Lottery through Arts Council England.

Pre-show drinks will be available in the foyer from 7-8pm. Due to licensing restrictions, please order wine when you book your ticket. It will be shown as an option on the booking page.
