Journey of Discovery: MGSO4 Contemporary Art Exhibition.

MGSO4 presents an exhibition of work from emerging and mid-career artists, responding to the theme of discovery.
Artists were selected from an open call for submission, interpreting the theme in any way they see fit. The eclectic exhibition includes 3D work, textile and digital mediums as well as well as contemporary fine art. Artworks will be for sale during this exhibition.

Leigh Banks's work 'Discover Your Alter-Ego' is long-listed for this exciting exhibition.

"Although my usual subject tends to be animals (I love nature and prefer to live surrounded by green spaces), another side of myself is excited by music, particularly the musical pop icons I grew up with. This side of me is drawn to something more urban and edgy, feeling paradoxical to my nature-loving side. I therefore recently started painting alternative pieces under another persona, DARTY, here depicting the mesmerising gaze of David Bowie’s alter ego, Ziggy Stardust. The background is derived from a mural painted some years ago inspired by the bold pools of colour of city lights at night."

From 15th May to 1st July, the public will be able to vote online for their favourite artist in the People's Choice Award. The submitted work for each artist is displayed on this website.
